Do you ever wish that students could have a say about what really goes on at school? Would you like to inform our school committee about events that are happening at school? Your wish just became true because Quaboag has a special council just for that! Student Advisory Council is a group of 12 student representatives who are elected by their classmates who meet once a month to discuss what’s going on in each grade and how we can improve our school. There are 2 student representatives per grade and they can be considered as the spokesperson for their own grade. Upcoming events and fundraisers are discussed along with issues that the students feel need to be addressed and recognized in order to determine solutions for. Transitions between different grades, such as the jump from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school, are discussed. Overall the SAC council is mainly how Quaboag is seen through a student’s perspective whether it be good or bad. The main goal is to improve our school and find out what students really want to be seen changed at Quaboag. Everything that is conversed in the meetings is presented to the school committee so they are informed about what is occurring in the students’ lives.
Quaboag’s SAC Members:
12th Grade: Tori Dickson (President) and Kyle Sledziewski (Vice President)
11th Grade: Lauren Banfield (Secretary) and Matthew Lavallee (Public Relations)
10th Grade: Daniel Para (Public Relations) and Thomas Seekins
9th Grade: Kimberly Greenwich and Tariyaha Morris
8th Grade: Katelyn Maskill and Brian Ortiz
7th Grade: Nate Easton and Caitlyn Murray
