It is a normal Wednesday afternoon. Most students have already left school, but joyous bouts of laughter and excited conversations can be heard from room 103: the art room. After school art club has become a popular after school hobby, with more than ten members in its first meeting and more than five in its second.
“Art club is a friendly and welcoming environment for the art novice and expert alike,” says Mrs. Sutherland, director of art club, “so it does not matter if you never had experience, or not much experience with art, or if you are an advanced artist. There is a place for everybody here. We have a lot of fun, exciting ideas underway for this year and we are hoping to have as many people as possible join. Yay art!”
A variety of schemes have already been laid out on the table. They include:
Art club is open to both the middle and high school. It is on every Wednesday, from 2:15-3:00.
Art club is getting ready to promote their group. Most have been making posters to go up around the school. A variety of materials have been used, such as pastels, crayon, sharpie, colored pencils, and paint. A more creative way has also been found. Three members of art club hunted out some certain size rocks to paint. Three will be stacked on top of each other. The other large one that was found is going to be E.T. It is still uncertain where the stones will be placed, but one thing’s for certain, art club rocks!
